California Gasser
This beast is a combination of two major gluebombs, the TD California Street Vette' and the Badman 55' Chevy. I used to look at stuff like this in magazines as a kid, and I really dug them. Jacked-up Corvettes with big-ass motors and tires!

The body and interior box from the CSV were all I used from that kit. The entire chassis, drivetrain, motor, and tires and rims are from the Badman. I had to do some major work with the hacksaw blade to make all this crap fit together, and believe me, if you could examine it up close, "hack" is the keyword! A couple of evenings of sawing and bitching finally got it all sitting together, after shortening and narrowing the chassis quite a bit.

The motor has only plug lines added, along with a nice milled aluminum blower scoop and distrib. The interior is bone stock, other than some photo-reduced gauges and a straight-pin shifter. Side steps were made from an old tube grille, cut and modified to fit.

The decals are from Dan Warford of slippery Arts of course. I came up with the idea, and he hit it right on as usual. The play on words I came up with while I was sketching the build. I was looking for names, and combining the kit names and such. Obviously the "Bad" is from the Badman, the "Art" relating to TD himself. (He probably won't like what I have done to his Vette...) Of course, the car is a "Gasser" hence the fallen "F" to make you do a double take on the cars name, "Bad (F)Art"! The "Adios Marek" on the trunk was another fun jab at my two favorite artists, taken from the original Badman trunk decal, just with a slight twist! TD and Dave both rate a place in "Koolsville" as far as I'm concerned.

This was a fun build, although it's probably the biggest piece of crap I've built in a long time. Don't look to close at the crooked chassis, the holes in the lower interior panels, and all of the glue-bomb remnants scattered about the car! But wouldn't it be a blast to drive?!
