AMT KooKoo Kar by Pontiac Jack.

I picked this one up on Ebay a couple of years ago. It had been built in the '70's,it was complete and unpainted, but had started to fall apart.

Pulling it apart was fairly simple, almost everything was salvagable, except for the clear clock face, which had been drowned in glue.

Once everything was cleaned up,I started painting. Most things could be brush painted, with only the chassis, roof and headlights being sprayed. I used about 2 dozen different colours and shades on this thing. It's a detailers dream! There are lots of dry-brushed highlights and heaps of woodgrain.

The only mods I made were replacing the clock face with clear styrene with new numerals added to look like they are sliding off the face and I made a new distributor and added plug leads

This kit was fantastic to build,Koo Koo Klyde,Mickey Moose, all the wild details! Even the box art and the hillarious descriptions are worthy!

I hope the molds are found for at least one of the cars in this series. They go together easily and can look great when they're detailed.
