49
by Dave Mikrut
In the early 1960’s
Rod & Custom ran a series of two articles by Don Emmons on how to section an
AMT 1949 Ford. I wanted to follow the article exactly as he built it, and I did
to a point, but just as I am never able to build a kit right from the box, I had
to deviate from the articles. One major thing was using a AMT Thunderbird
interior, and also a different grille treatment, wheels and tires and aluminum
tubing exhaust pipes. I also used a modified Revell Big Daddy Roth Outlaw
engine. The flame decals are made on my home inkjet printer.
