Kruzadar by Dave Mikrut

In September 1963 Car Model magazine featured an article on how to customize an AMT 1940 Ford 2dr Sedan. They called it the Crusader. The top is chopped, the doors were cut open one and a half times bigger than stock and swivel on a metal pin at about ¾’s of the width of the door. The body is also channeled, the hood is lowered and a custom grille and quad head lights were added. Revell custom parts from the sixties and parts from the old Monogram Predicta were used including a narrowed frame. Bucket seats swivel on clothing snaps. The shifter has a sword handle. The upholstery is red and black braided metallic cord from the fabric store. The engine is the Predicta Hemi with aluminum stacks. The color is  a blend of 2 shades of metallic red over a fine silver basecoat.
