T-BOLT
by ROB RILEY
This started out as a stock 67 mercury
comet, and I cut the rear 1/4 panels off and moved them forward about 1/2 inch. I
used superglue, and automotive spot putty to fill the cut lines. the chassis was
cut & shortened to match the new shorter wheel base. I used the kit supplied
rear axle and leaf springs out back. I turned the kit supplied front king-pins
up-side down to raise, the front end. I added parts box radius rods to the
front. the interior was cut off right behind the door panels, and I made up some
plastic sheets to cover the former back seat area. the engine, and headers are
from a polar lights stock car kit, and is a big boss 429 painted ford blue. the
fuel injection intake is from the parts box, and the stacks are from a Tom Daniel
beer wagon kit. the transmission is kit supplied. the chassis is painted flat
black, as well as the interior. I made the roll bar from a couple of pieces
of coat hanger, and sprayed it silver. the body paint is krylon
primer/filler, krylon silver, krylon translucent orange, krylon gold leaf, and
then testors clear lacquer. the hood is sprayed flat black. the wheels are from
a jolly roger kit, and the rear slicks are skinny Goodyear blue streaks. the
decals are all from the parts box.
