Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi
This is a 1/6th scale vinyl prepainted kit from Polydata (1995) built 12/24/2012
I purchsed this kit a few years ago on ebay, and it sat in a pile of kits awaiting my attention.
This was a simple kit to assemble and construction took just about an hour to build.
Ben stands the better part of 12 inches from head to toe. I chose to leave his hood down as there are indents in his cape that would have shown.
The model is based on Alec Guinness from Star Wars Episode IV : A New Hope which was the first introduction of the Star Wars franchise is 1977.
I drilled out the handle for the light saber so it could be removed as it sticks out forward as if he is about to engage Darth Vader.
All in all it's a pretty nifty model to build. The vinyl hadn't shrunk or deformed while waiting assembly. Ony the hands were a bit of an issue getting the alignment correct. This would be a great model for a younger budding modeler, or even a father son project as the gratification is almost immediate and the model is a satisfying representation of Ben Kenobi.
This is kit STW-002. I don't know how extensive the line is of other 1/6th vinyl kits from this timeless classic.
